Following established procedures, the first stage consumed its fuel reserves and cutoff, known as Main Engine Cutoff (MECO). Almost simultaneously, the first and second stages separated, and the second stage’s Merlin Vacuum (MVAC) engine ignited — this event is called Second Engine Start 1 (SCS1).
This burn would propel the payload and second stage into the desired orbit, marking a vital step in reaching the mission objectives. The journey continued with the second stage performing a series of burns, precise to fractions of a second, to achieve the correct orbit for the payload.
