Part 3/6:
At approximately 2:15 AM near 17th and I Streets in northwest D.C., close to the Farragut West Metro Station, these brave guardsmen faced an attack that was both brazen and targeted. A lone gunman opened fire without any apparent provocation, armed with a .357 Smith & Wesson revolver.
The assault was swift and brutal. One guardsman was struck and fell to the ground. The attacker then leaned over and struck him again, inflicting additional harm. The second guardsman was also shot multiple times, sustaining serious injuries in the process. The nature of this ambush underscores the dangerous and unpredictable environments that law enforcement and security personnel often operate within.
