Despite the massive budget and marketing push, the initial reception at the Cannes Film Festival has been underwhelming. A debut screening saw the film receiving a 44% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is far below expectations for a flagship franchise like Indiana Jones. An additional review has slightly nudged the score up to 50%, but overall, critics’ reactions seem lukewarm at best.
