According to authorities in New Mexico, the District Attorney’s office has indicated that charges against Baldwin and possibly three other individuals could be filed soon. A letter to the Board of Finance underscored that the investigation may proceed with up to four separate jury trials, each focusing on different defendants and potential homicide charges.
District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies noted during a September 20th meeting that “it’s become apparent” that criminal charges are likely, with the case possibly involving homicide statutes. The office has also requested additional funding to continue the investigation, highlighting its seriousness and complexity.
