A Frustrated Fanbase and a Frustrating Studio
Overall, DC’s approach this year at Comic-Con seemed designed to evade direct engagement with their audience. Instead of addressing controversies head-on or generating excitement with promising announcements, they chose silence—an attitude perceived by many fans as dismissive, even contemptuous.
This year’s absence of major announcements coupled with controversy management failures demonstrates that DC’s leadership might be more interested in avoiding accountability than cultivating goodwill or excitement among their fans. Whether this will change under new ownership remains uncertain, but as it stands, fans are left feeling ignored and disappointed.
