According to reports from sources like NG Gamer, a ransomware group called Egregor managed to infiltrate Ubisoft's internal network, along with Crytek's, and subsequently leaked the Watch Dogs Legion source code. The leak reportedly involves 560 gigabytes of sensitive data, including the game's core files. Ubisoft has yet to officially acknowledge the breach, only stating that they are investigating the incident. The leak has already appeared on various private trackers, making the code accessible to hackers, modders, and pirates alike.
