The Irony of Identity Politics and the Divide
What’s especially ironic is that many supporters—both of Carano and of free speech—see this as part of a larger “identity politics” battleground where only opinions aligning with progressive narratives are tolerated. Those who differ are targeted for harassment, losing their careers, and silenced—often under the guise of combating “hate” or “disinformation.”
Supporters like Carano rally behind the notion that she simply expressed opinions held by a large segment of society, exposing what they believe is hypocrisy and censorship. She refuses to conform and openly states her beliefs, much to the dismay of those wielding social media as a censorship tool.
