Connecticut was second from the bottom, followed by Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, which tied for third. In fifth place for the least prepared was New York. Despite its busy streets and urban sprawl, New York has only three hunting stores per 100,000 residents—an unfortunate detail if you’re trying to arm yourself with blunt objects to fend off the undead.
Interestingly, the study noted that New York's substantial water area (13.6%) might provide a strategic advantage, assuming zombies are poor swimmers. Still, in the chaos of a zombie outbreak, the city that never sleeps might not be the safest haven.
