The Snyder Cut movement has demonstrated that studios are cautiously receptive to fans’ demands when enough voices are raised. As such, fans are now turning their attention to other major DC films, particularly Suicide Squad (2016). This campaign is marked by the hashtags #ReleaseTheAyerCut, #OptSquad, and similar tags trending across social media platforms, particularly on July 20th, symbolically linked to the original release date of the film. The goal is to convince HBO Max and Warner Bros. to allow viewers access to David Ayer’s original cut, which many believe was significantly different from the chaotic, humor-heavy theatrical version we ultimately saw.
