Esposito's comments left the door open to some wild theories. He hinted that Gideon’s access to the Darksaber and his commanding presence could imply force sensitivity. This was problematic because, historically, wielding a lightsaber or Darksaber doesn’t necessitate force sensitivity, as seen in characters like Sabine Wren or Gar Saxon. The Star Wars franchise has shown that non-force users can certainly wield these weapons, which makes the speculation about Gideon being force-sensitive questionable.
