As a result of this ideological turn, all plans that had been in development, including the richly detailed Mos Eisley spaceport, were shelved. Cockrell describes how the team, after hearing about the new direction, was told to “start over,” placing their early concepts into a vault never to be explored publicly. The enthusiasm and optimism that once surrounded the project gave way to frustration and disappointment within the Imagineering teams.
