Part 7/10:
A significant shortcoming was the Jets' inability to apply pressure on Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The defense failed to generate consistent blitz pressure or disrupt the rhythm early in the game. Tua was able to get rid of the ball quickly and in rhythm, avoiding sacks and making the Jets' pass rush ineffective.
The defensive ends couldn’t contain the bootlegs and waggle plays that Miami used frequently to buy time. The secondary was exposed with wide-open receivers after the linebackers were dominated at the second level. Overall, Miami’s offensive scheme made it difficult for the Jets to mount any effective counterattack.
