Part 11/14:
Hollywood’s historical role has been both as entertainment and as soft power—spreading American ideals globally, shaping perceptions, and promoting democratic values. However, critics worry that contemporary Hollywood’s internal hostility toward traditional patriotism jeopardizes this position.
The concern is that if Hollywood continues to produce content that contradicts American values or aligns with hostile foreign regimes (e.g., close ties with Russia or bending narratives in ways that undermine national credibility), it damages the nation’s global standing.
The question then arises: should Hollywood be entrusted with shaping America’s image abroad, especially when internal content seems to oppose the very values it aims to promote?
