Many fans have pointed out how The Acolyte depicts its characters as either outright idiots or comically inept. The main antagonist, a purported Sith, repeatedly underestimates her opponent—disbelieving the strength of a Jedi master or acting without even basic tactics like knocking out enemies instead of engaging in prolonged and pointless battles.
For instance, during a fight scene, the Sith attempts to "attack with no weapon" and tries to beat a Jedi master with her bare hands or makes illogical decisions such as trying to punch a highly trained force user who could obliterate her in a second. She continually reaches for her weapon, only to be disarmed or sidetracked, making her look incompetent rather than formidable.
