Her supposed personal growth feels manufactured—her journey lacks realism because the filmmakers haven’t shown us her internal struggles, only telling us they exist. Without internal conflict and development, the audience finds it hard to invest in her story or cheer her on when she confronts her enemies.
Underwhelming Villain: The Queen
Gabi Galdadote’s portrayal of the Evil Queen fares no better. In the original film, the queen’s obsession with beauty and her jealousy stem from deep psychological fears—fear of aging and losing relevance—that lend her character a tragic, almost sympathetic dimension. Here, Galdadote’s queen is reduced to a fashionable diva, strutting in elaborate costumes and singing about beauty with a campy flair but lacking any real menace or psychological depth.
