One of the core challenges of "Skeleton Crew" appears to be its identity crisis. The series is ostensibly targeted at a younger audience—children and early teenagers—introducing them to the Star Wars universe through themes of friendship, bravery, and discovery. It succeeds in this regard: the central themes are universal, and the sense of wonder and camaraderie among the kids is palpable.
