Part 2/12:

One of the most glaring issues with The Last Jedi lies in the execution of Finn and Rose's mission to Canto Bight. Positioned as a critical side quest, this sequence is supposed to add tension and depth to the Resistance’s struggle. Instead, it feels disconnected from the central plot, dragging out unnecessarily and suffering from sluggish pacing.

While the Resistance battles imminent destruction—their ships being targeted, and their survival hanging in the balance—the movie devotes excessive screen time to Finn and Rose wandering a casino world full of rich aliens, engaging in nonsensical activities such as freeing space horses. This diversion halts the film’s momentum and undermines the urgency that should be mounting during this crisis.
