In stark contrast, The Last Jedi’s Canto Bight scenes are overextended and lack dynamic editing. The filmmakers seem to have failed to recognize the necessity of pace, allowing long shots of Finn and Rose admiring the scenery, which does little to advance the story. To improve this, the scene could have been cut in half, focusing solely on urgent navigation through the crowd, with rapid cuts to scenes of the Resistance ships under threat, creating a sense of tension and consequence.
