Part 8/12:

The Star Wars franchise is renowned for swift, engaging action scenes. The speeder bike chase in Return of the Jedi exemplifies how tight editing and purposeful shots contribute to excitement and tension. Every cut serves to maintain momentum, with quick pacing that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

The Last Jedi’s space horse chase fails to match this standard. Its five-minute length and aimless camera movements diminish its impact, making it a tedious, unnecessary detour. A smarter edit would have cut it in half, focusing only on essential moments—Finn and Rose escaping, narrowly avoiding danger, and finding their exit—using tight, close-up shots to heighten urgency and keep the action sharp and thrilling.
