Sleeping with Other People suffers notably from a slow and repetitive middle segment filled with unnecessary scenes that stall narrative progress. More troubling still is her handling of The Acolyte, especially evident in episode three, titled The Power of Many. In a pivotal scene, a character named May confronts OSHA and abruptly initiates a fire—abrupt, confusing, and seemingly disconnected from prior narrative logic. Such jarring storytelling choices undermine viewer comprehension and engagement, raising concerns about her storytelling discipline.
