Part 2/9:
Two years ago, Shuh, affectionately known as “Shuh” or “boss,” fell in love with an old building beside Maxwell Food Centre. Despite his lack of formal training in architecture or history, Shuh’s passion for preserving the building’s bones and injecting new life into it has transformed it into a lively space called KADA.
Originally a mission hospital for women and children over 103 years ago, the building stood unnoticed amidst Singapore’s ever-changing landscape. Today, it’s a bustling center for conversation, creativity, and community engagement. Shuh’s vision was simple yet profound: to create a place where likeminded individuals could gather, share ideas, and keep history alive in fresh, unexpected ways.
