Web's observations didn't stop there. The telescope also identified peculiar objects dubbed "little red dots," initially thought to be tiny galaxies. Follow-up studies, however, revealed that they don't conform to known galactic behavior. Some scientists now suggest these could be black hole stars, a hypothetical state where a massive star collapses into a black hole but retains some outer layers, creating a hybrid object—an energetic, star-like body powered by a black hole core.
This extraordinary idea would be a scientific first: witnessing a transitional cosmic object that defies current understanding. If true, it could provide insights into black hole formation and star evolution in the universe's earliest phases.
