Part 2/10:

Paradoxically, Hollywood’s success in the past has limited its authority today. The dominant narrative suggests that what we watch is less driven by innovation and more by fear of missing out (FOMO). The modern landscape is plagued by familiarity—many contemporary productions are either reboots, remakes, or reinterpretations of older content, rather than original, groundbreaking storytelling.

The audience’s challenge is discerning between genuine new content and rehashed ideas that diminish the artistry of cinema and television. Do viewers need to consume the latest, less compelling iteration of something they already know? Or could they choose to revisit classics and lesser-known gems from past eras when storytelling was less compromised by ideological agendas?
