Critics argue that many of the most iconic films originated outside the U.S. and shot abroad for narrative or economic reasons—not due to foreign threats or propaganda.
A UK producer summarized the sentiment: "This makes no sense and shows a lack of understanding of storytelling and filmmaking." Several industry veterans warned that such a policy could decimate the global film industry, especially if it leads to increased costs and red tape.
