Singapore’s vulnerability—potential flooding of 20% of its territory by 2100—motivated him to explore sustainable solutions aligned with climate challenges. His vision: develop a modular, scalable system capable of growing food in seawater or on water surfaces, blending aquaculture with urban farming.
In his words, "Can we grow food in and on water?"—the core philosophy driving Project Castaway. To translate this into reality, Chris is recruiting a multidisciplinary team, including students from IT College East and future landscape architects from NUS, emphasizing collaboration and innovation.
