They even modified "Jesus of Suburbia" to "running away from pain like the kids from Palestine," which drew criticism for trivializing complex geopolitical issues.
Adding fuel to the fire, several artists used their platform to promote divisive messages, with some deliberately pushing boundaries—such as Irish hip-hop group Kneecap, who claimed their set was censored by festival organizers when they attempted to deliver pro-Palestine chants.
