Part 2/12:
Since Prime Minister SATA Tosan assumed office in September of last year, his administration has prioritized attracting foreign investment and fostering a robust EV ecosystem. Thailand, already a regional automotive powerhouse, is striving to transform its extensive manufacturing base into a global EV hub.
The Thai government has cleared over 24 projects with the Board of Investment (BOI), encompassing the production of electric vehicles—both fully electric and hybrid models. Predictions suggest that more than 500,000 EVs could roll off Thai assembly lines annually in the near future. Beyond vehicle assembly, there’s a significant emphasis on developing the supply chain, especially the production of batteries, which are critical components for EVs.
