Moving Forward: Hope and Reflection
As China’s economy has improved and social attitudes have shifted, the incidence of girl abandonment and child marriage has decreased markedly. The advent of ultrasonography enables early diagnosis of fetal gender, leading to fewer girl abortions. Better economic conditions have also made it easier for families to raise daughters, fostering a cultural shift towards gender equality.
