It also reflects a possible deactivation of the traditional social contract between employer and employee, where camaraderie built outside formal work hours was once seen as vital.
A millennial participant expressed disappointment: "I made some of my best friends at work, and it’s just not the same nowadays." The sense of community and shared experience seems to be declining for younger workers.
