Ultraviolet light is an invisible spectrum of radiation that surrounds us daily. It is similar to visible light but with shorter wavelengths, rendering it unseen by the naked eye. Only about 3% of the light reaching Earth is UV, yet it is enough to cause harm, including skin aging, pigmentation, and even melanoma or skin cancer.
Using a specialized UV camera, individuals can visualize the presence of UV rays. Sunscreen acts as a shield, appearing dark on UV imagery by blocking the radiation. Conversely, unprotected skin is visible in lighter or less dark shades, highlighting the importance of sun protection.
