Part 3/10:
Singapore's meteorological stations are equipped with ultraviolet index (UVI) sensors, providing real-time data on UV radiation levels. Situated within the restricted area of Changi Airport, these sensors primarily measure UVA and UVB rays, which are responsible for skin damage and sunburn.
On a typical sunny noon, the UVI often reaches a high of 7, categorized as "high exposure." During peak hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., especially on clear days, Singapore frequently experiences very high (8-10) or extreme (11+) UV levels. Data collected over 14 years indicates that between 4 to 21 days each month record extreme UV levels, with February, March, and April being the most intense.
