The Nature of Bamboo as a Grass

This rapid growth rate—some species can grow up to 3.8 centimeters per hour—enables quick replenishment once harvested. Typically, bamboo reaches maturity within 5 to 6 years, at which point it can be harvested annually in a sustainable cycle.
