Processing costs for biomass can be competitive with coal; however, raw material procurement remains a challenge. For instance, in Indonesia, government-regulated coal prices are around $7 per ton, whereas biomass can cost approximately $100 per ton. This price disparity hinders large-scale adoption unless subsidies or policy adjustments are implemented.
