Marvel’s strategic collaboration with Sony over the last decade has been crucial in integrating Spider-Man into the MCU, most notably through films like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home, where Sony produced the movies but shared costs with Marvel Studios. Initially, Marvel received only a small percentage (about 5%) of the box office gross but renegotiated this deal around 2019 to a more collaborative cost-sharing arrangement. Under this new setup, Marvel contributed about 25% of the production costs in exchange for a 25% share of the profits from Spider-Man: No Way Home, which became one of the highest-grossing films of all time.
