The family’s history took a tragic turn during World War II. Hana learns that her great-grandfather, Sultan Muhammad Al-Cadri, was a leading figure in the founding of the Puntana Sultanate. His reign modernized the city and fostered close ties with colonial powers. Sadly, during the Japanese occupation in 1944, he, along with other royal family members, was falsely accused of rebellion and brutalized in what became known as the Mandor Massacre.
