Applying cool coating paints to surfaces of public housing (HDB) blocks, which reflect solar heat rather than absorb it. Currently, a pilot project involves coating 130 blocks; preliminary results show they can be up to 2°C cooler.
Developing advanced modeling tools enables planners, architects, and engineers to simulate environmental conditions before actual building. This allows for optimal design choices, like building orientation and placement of green spaces, to maximize wind flow and shade coverage.
