The Power of Suio Onsen’s Binary Power Plant
Suo Onsen’s current geothermal facility is relatively modest but notable. Its binary power plant produces approximately 2,600 megawatts annually, enough to supply electricity for around 800 households over the course of a year. This project exemplifies how small-scale geothermal plants can contribute to local energy needs and sustain traditional industries like hot springs tourism.
