Jonas collects water samples from the deeper sections of pools and adds reagents to measure chlorine concentration and pH. Ideal chlorine levels fall between 1.0 and 3.0 parts per million (ppm), while pH should range from 7.2 to 7.8 for optimal safety and comfort.

In the sample tested, chlorine levels were about 1.5 ppm, and pH was within the acceptable range. Despite the pool being relatively clean, Jonas explains that additional chlorination is necessary before closing the pool to maintain disinfectant efficacy over days without treatment.
