Part 5/13:
This practice, often dubbed as a "Trojan horse," is now under scrutiny by the European Commission. Reuters reports that the EU is reviewing tariffs on Volkswagen vehicles produced in China. Instead of simply imposing the traditional import levy—currently around 20.7%—the EU is considering import quotas and minimum price mechanisms that could effectively favor these low-cost imports. Such measures would allow Volkswagen to ship Chinese-built EVs into Europe with reduced or zero tariffs if certain conditions are met.
