Early on, Singapore identified several cases among travelers returning from Wuhan, China. These imported cases were relatively straightforward to track since most had recent travel history. Notably, the first locally transmitted case was reported in late January; this individual had traveled to Wuhan for leisure, highlighting the potential for community spread. The country responded by imposing strict travel restrictions, banning entry or transit for visitors with recent travel history to mainland China within 14 days.
