Hydration and Perceived Cooling Versus Actual Cooling

Hydration status was also examined by comparing two individuals who consumed different drinks post-exercise. One ingested an isotonic beverage immediately after activity, while the other drank during recovery. Surprisingly, the results showed no significant difference in core temperature recovery or perceived cooling between the two.

This suggests that the perception of feeling cooler is often misleading. Consumers might believe certain drinks or cooling methods provide effective heat dissipation, but in reality, these strategies may have little impact on the body's internal heat levels. Feeling refreshed or cooler doesn't necessarily equate to actual cooling of the body's core temperature.
