Part 2/11:
At the core of the Gilang Bazaar lies a sense of nostalgia and community spirit. In previous years, the bazaar was bustling, drawing large crowds eager to indulge in traditional foods and shop for festive goods. However, the last two years have seen a slowdown, partly attributable to competition from other bazaars that commenced earlier and the lingering effects of the pandemic. The number of vendors remaining active has diminished, with some units still vacant even after two days into the Ramadan season. This has prompted organizers to reassess their strategies, including introducing a rental cap for 2024 to encourage more participation and sustain the tradition.
