When mothers openly describe their struggles without context or support structures, they risk attracting harsh criticism and social shame. These posts often invite unsolicited advice, judgment, and harsh comments, which can deepen feelings of inadequacy and isolation.
For example, some mothers post tearful videos lamenting the end of maternity leave or expressing anxiety about sending their children to daycare. While these feelings are valid, public sharing can lead to responses that shame or blame the mother for her choices—whether to stay home or work.
