Gerry Rafferty’s career post-"Baker Street" saw continued success, most notably with his 1978 debut solo album "City to City," which sold over six million copies worldwide. However, subsequent albums failed to replicate that success, and Rafferty became increasingly withdrawn from live touring, preferring the solitude of the studio. His personal life was marred by struggles with alcoholism and health issues, ultimately leading to his death in 2011 from liver disease.
