Much of what we believe about ourselves is shaped during childhood. These foundational ideas can be mistakenly planted by caregivers, teachers, or peers, leaving us with a distorted self-image that we carry into adulthood. Once embedded, these beliefs tend to perpetuate themselves, as if we're continually replaying a traumatic event internally every day.

One of the key characteristics of such persistent obsession is repetition. The thought, "I'm not enough," repeats itself tirelessly, often without our conscious awareness, becoming a kind of mental echo that haunts us. It can be incredibly painful to confront and, ultimately, crippling if left unexamined.
