This perspective urges us to see our thoughts and internal dialogue not as the ultimate truth or as our core selves, but as byproducts of an organ designed for survival. We often identify so strongly with our thoughts that we forget they are mechanical processes, not the essence of who we are.
By understanding that the internal voice is more an analyst than an authoritative narrator, we can begin to detach ourselves from automatic judgments and negative biases. Recognizing this can empower us to see the world—and ourselves—with more clarity and objectivity.
