Anti-Semitism is arguably one of the oldest hatreds in human history, with origins stretching back thousands of years. Its roots are deeply embedded in religious prejudices, especially in medieval Europe, where the blame for the death of Jesus Christ was unfairly placed on Jewish people. These religious accusations led to widespread discrimination, social exclusion, and violence.
Historical episodes such as the Spanish Inquisition exemplify the extreme measures taken against Jews. Jews were either expelled from Spain or forced to convert to Christianity under threat of violence. These historical persecutions have persisted through the centuries, continually morphing but never fully dissipating.
