Part 10/15:
Chamath's AI stack starts with the foundational layers, beginning at the silicon level. This includes chips from companies like Nvidia and AMD, as well as bespoke hardware created by giants like Google and Amazon. These chips enable the processing power necessary for advanced AI models.
Above the silicon layer are the foundation models, such as OpenAI's GPT or Meta's open-source efforts. These models form the basis of AI applications and are the engines driving the current AI boom.
The stack then bifurcates into two critical domains:
- Software AI: This includes enterprise tools, productivity apps, and AI agents that are shaping current applications. Most of the market attention is focused here, but Chamath recognizes that this is only part of the story.
