Part 7/10:
A disturbing trend is the recruitment of teenagers to serve as mules or drivers for the traffickers. Ads appearing on social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok entice minors with promises of quick money—sometimes as much as $800 to $2,000 for short trips—guiding them to transport illegal migrants deep into the U.S.
Some of these teenagers are recruited directly from their homes, with traffickers stealing cars after parents go to sleep, or luring them via online ads targeting vulnerable youth. These minors are often unaware of the full scope of their involvement and the dangers they face, including high-speed chases and potential life imprisonment if caught.
