Part 11/13:

For Disneyland’s 35th anniversary in 1990, the old Mark III Monorail Red was transformed into the Mouse-o-rail, a road-worthy float for the Rose Parade. It was a creative (if temporary) homage that capitalized on nostalgia. Over the years, the monorails’ vibrant paint jobs were continually wrapped with promotional decals, as the iridescent finish showed signs of wear.

By the late 2000s, aging equipment and safety considerations prompted further changes. The introduction of Mark VII monorails in 2007, built by re-engineering older chassis, incorporated LED lighting and updated interiors, but with some capacity reduction for more comfortable seating.
